Citizens' budget 2025: 35 proposals are up for election

30.09.2025

A total of 103 proposals have been submitted for the Jena Citizens' Budget this year. After a thorough review by the administration and the Citizens' Participation Advisory Board, 35 proposals with a total value of 236,740 euros will enter the voting phase. This will take place from 01.10. to 12.11.2025.

All residents of Jena aged 16 and over can vote on the proposals - either online via the city's online participation portal or on site at one of the following five polling stations:

  • Stadtwerke Jena Customer Center (Saalstraße 8a)
  • Winzerla district office (Anna-Siemsen-Straße 49)
  • Lobeda district office (Karl-Marx-Allee 28)
  • Begegnungszentrum Jena e.V. (Closewitzer Straße 2)
  • DRK Senior Citizens' Meeting Center Jena-Ost (Dammstraße 32)

Completed ballot papers can also be deposited in the deadline letterbox of the city administration (Am Anger 15). You can find the ballot paper under Downloads.

"With the citizens' budget, the people of Jena are directly involved in shaping their city. The wide variety of proposals shows how many ideas and how much commitment there is among our citizens. Now it's your vote that counts: Take part and help decide which projects will be implemented in the coming year," says Kathleen Lützkendorf, Head of the Department for Social Affairs, Health, Immigration and Climate.

The results of the vote will then be evaluated and published. The proposals with the most votes - provided they fit into the budget - will be implemented in 2026.
